Panderm + Dusting Powder – Introduction

It is used to treat fungal skin infections, including vaginal thrush, ringworm, athlete’s foot (Known by its medical name, tinea pedis, is a common fungal skin condition that affects the foot.), diaper rash, and sweat rash. By rupturing the fungal cell membrane it eliminates the fungi.

How Panderm + Dusting Powder Works: A Closer Look

The main way that clotrimazole 1% w/w works is by breaking down the fungal cytoplasmic membrane’s permeability barrier. Ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes that controls the fluidity, permeability, and activity of membrane-associated proteins in a concentration-dependent manner, is inhibited by clotrimazole during its formation. It also prevents 14 alpha-lanosterol from being demethylated. This process results in the fungus’s death.
